About Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya

Located on the second floor of the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase, Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya offers one of the most authentic Japanese dining experiences at Walt Disney World. The name translates loosely to “four seasons,” reflecting the restaurant’s commitment to celebrating Japan’s rich seasonal culture through food and presentation.

The Setting

The dining room overlooks World Showcase Lagoon, giving most tables a sweeping view of the water and the international pavilions beyond. The interior design draws from Japan’s seasonal festivals — decorations and accents shift to reflect whichever celebration is currently honored, making each visit feel distinct.

Cultural Immersion

What sets Shiki-Sai apart from many theme park restaurants is the presence of Japanese cultural representatives who interact with guests throughout the meal. They explain the significance of each seasonal festival, describe traditional ingredients, and help guests connect the food to the living culture of Japan. It’s education wrapped in excellent food.

Practical Notes

Reservations are accepted and recommended, particularly during peak EPCOT event seasons such as the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. The restaurant is accessible without a park ticket for guests staying at EPCOT-area resorts via the International Gateway entrance.
