About Nine Dragons Restaurant

Nine Dragons Restaurant has been a fixture of EPCOT’s China Pavilion since the park opened, offering one of the longest-standing international dining experiences in World Showcase. Named for the iconic Nine-Dragon Wall found in Beijing’s Beihai Park, the restaurant aims to bring the richness and regional diversity of Chinese cuisine to guests from around the world.

The Setting

The dining room is designed to evoke a refined Chinese imperial aesthetic — think carved lacquered screens, hand-painted murals depicting scenes from Chinese mythology, silk lanterns casting warm amber light, and ornate architectural details inspired by traditional Chinese palace design. The space is elegant without being stuffy, welcoming families and couples alike.

Regional Variety

One of Nine Dragons’ defining traits is its effort to represent China’s many distinct culinary regions rather than presenting a single, homogenized Chinese-American menu. Cantonese, Szechuan, Hunan, Mandarin, and Shanghai-influenced dishes all appear on the menu, reflecting the true breadth of one of the world’s most diverse culinary traditions. Cast Members at the China Pavilion are often from China and can speak to the origins of various dishes.
