The restaurant grew out of the original Jazz Kitchen concept — in place at Downtown Disney for over two decades — and evolved it into a fresher, more coastal-forward establishment while keeping the New Orleans soul intact.

Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio is located at the Disneyland Resort and does not accept the Disney Dining Plan. This is a separately paid dining experience. For more than two decades, Jazz Kitchen was a Downtown Disney District institution, drawing guests with bold Cajun-Creole cooking and the warm hospitality of New Orleans. The evolved concept — Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio — builds on that legacy while opening the menu and the architecture outward, blending the flavors of the Gulf Coast with the produce, seafood, and aesthetic of the California coast.

The restaurant’s physical transformation is as dramatic as its culinary one. Expansive patio seating spreads across upper and lower levels overlooking Downtown Disney’s main promenade, with the outdoor tables designed to catch the coastal breezes and city energy simultaneously. The architecture leans light and open — sandy whites and sunset hues that echo an oceanfront veranda — a sharp contrast to the darker, more intimate interior of its predecessor.

The food rewards the renovation. Crab Beignets are a genuine invention: the doughnut-light fry of a classic beignet applied to a savory crab filling, yielding something that is distinctly Cajun in technique but utterly its own thing in character. The NOLA BBQ Shrimp & Grits is the kind of anchoring entree a restaurant like this needs — deeply Southern in its bones, executed with the care and seasonal-ingredient thinking of a California kitchen.
