The Experience

The Setting

Celebration at the Top takes place on the 15th-floor observation deck of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, one of the most architecturally distinctive buildings on Walt Disney World property. The open-air terrace sits above the A-frame of the resort, offering a panoramic, unobstructed view of Magic Kingdom, the Seven Seas Lagoon, and the surrounding Walt Disney World landscape in every direction.

The event begins approximately 45–60 minutes before the scheduled Magic Kingdom fireworks show, giving guests time to browse the food stations, visit the bar, and settle into their preferred viewing position on the terrace before the show begins.

Food and Beverage

Celebration at the Top is structured as a dessert and small bites party with open bar service. Guests can expect:

• Themed small bites and desserts — Rotating selections of savory canapés, artisan cheeses, charcuterie, and an array of festive desserts and pastries, including items created specifically for this event
• Specialty sweet stations — Often including items like chocolate-dipped treats, miniature tarts, macarons, and seasonal confections
• Open bar — Includes beer, wine, and spirits as well as specialty cocktails and non-alcoholic mocktails and sparkling beverages
• Soft drinks, water, and coffee

The food offering goes slightly beyond a typical dessert party: the inclusion of savory bites and a full open bar makes it more of a reception experience than a dessert spread. Still, guests are advised to eat a full meal beforehand for a comfortable evening.

Fireworks Viewing

The centerpiece of the evening is watching the Magic Kingdom nighttime spectacular from the 15th-floor observation deck. The elevation and unobstructed sightlines create a perspective that places the entire show — from the first launch to the finale — fully within view, with the castle and park lights glittering below. Unlike ground-level viewing, there is no crowd, no competition for position, and no one between you and the show.

After the fireworks conclude, guests are free to linger briefly before the event closes for the evening.

Dining Plan Information

Celebration at the Top does not accept the Disney Dining Plan. This is a separately ticketed premium event requiring full prepayment at booking. The all-inclusive price covers all food, open bar, and fireworks viewing access. No additional charges are incurred on the night of the event.

About Celebration at the Top

Disney’s Contemporary Resort is an icon of mid-century modern architecture — one of the original two hotels to open with Walt Disney World in 1971 — and its distinctive A-frame silhouette, with the monorail passing through the building’s Grand Canyon Concourse, remains one of the most recognizable images in the Disney resort portfolio. California Grill on the 15th floor has long been recognized as one of the premier fine-dining destinations at Walt Disney World, and the same floor’s observation deck serves as the stage for Celebration at the Top.

The event was initially developed as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration and has continued as a standalone premium offering. The 50th Anniversary branding — “50th Flavors & Fireworks” — is reflected in the event name, though the experience functions as a polished, annually updated celebration event beyond the anniversary context.

What distinguishes Celebration at the Top from other premium fireworks viewing options at Walt Disney World is the combination of height, openness, and service level. The Ferrytale Fireworks Dessert Cruise offers a water-level perspective; the Fireworks Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom offers a reserved spot on park grounds. Celebration at the Top offers something different: the sensation of watching the show from above, as if the fireworks are being launched toward you rather than above you. For guests who have seen the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the ground many times, the rooftop vantage is a genuinely fresh way to experience the show.

Capacity is limited, and the event frequently sells out during holiday periods and special events. The 60-day advance booking window should be treated as a firm deadline during peak travel seasons.
