Dining Plan Information

The Disneyland Resort does not currently offer a dining plan equivalent to Walt Disney World’s Disney Dining Plan. Catal Restaurant is a fully out-of-pocket dining expense. Given its location in the Downtown Disney District, the restaurant is also accessible to guests who are not visiting the parks on that day — no park admission is required to dine here.

Reservations are accepted and recommended, particularly for dinner on weekends and during peak travel periods. The restaurant is bookable through the Disneyland app and the Disney dining reservation system.

Catal Restaurant has been a cornerstone of Downtown Disney District’s dining scene since the district opened in 2001. The restaurant occupies a prominent two-story position in the center of the district, with an open kitchen that lets diners watch the cooking, a main dining room with warm Mediterranean design elements, and a rooftop patio that overlooks the Downtown Disney pedestrian promenade.

The Setting

The interior takes design cues from the whitewashed architecture and warm earth tones of the Mediterranean coastline — terracotta tiles, wrought iron accents, deep wood tones, and open spaces that feel welcoming without the formality of traditional fine dining. The open kitchen creates an active, energetic atmosphere during peak service. Upstairs, the rooftop patio is among the most pleasant outdoor dining spots in the Disneyland Resort, open to the California sky and offering views of the activity below on the promenade.

Downtown Disney Context

Catal occupies a different position in the Disneyland dining landscape than the restaurants inside the parks. Without the theming obligations of a park restaurant, Catal focuses purely on food quality and dining experience, attracting locals, resort guests staying at the on-property hotels, and visitors who want a proper dinner before or after their park day. The Downtown Disney location means parking and access are straightforward even for guests not using Disney resort transportation.

The restaurant is a reliable choice for groups that include adults who prioritize the quality of the meal over thematic experience.
