Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers at the Walt Disney World Resort

The Experience

Savi’s Workshop is tucked inside a covert corner of Black Spire Outpost in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where a secretive group known as the Gatherers invites you to construct a custom lightsaber using ancient parts and living kyber crystals. The experience lasts roughly 20 minutes and accommodates one builder at a time, accompanied by up to one guest.

Choosing Your Path

Before entering the workshop, meet a Gatherer outside who guides you through the first critical choice: your hilt theme. Each theme draws from different corners of the Star Wars universe:

• Peace and Justice — Salvaged scraps from fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships. Republic-era designs honoring the galaxy’s former guardians.
• Power and Control — Originally forged by dark side warriors, this style carries the weight of the Sith legacy.
• Elemental Nature — Inspired by the living Force — wood, vine, and organic shapes that reflect the natural world.
• Protection and Defense — Ancient symbols and script from civilizations across the galaxy, worn by those who swore to protect others.

You receive a cloisonné pin marking your chosen theme upon selection.

Assembling the Hilt

Inside the workshop, each builder receives a box of parts matched to their chosen theme. The assembly process is guided step by step:

• Select 2 of 4 sleeves
• Choose 1 of 2 emitters
• Choose 1 of 2 pommel caps
• Choose 1 of 2 sets of activation plates and switches

Unused parts are returned to Savi’s inventory. The kyber crystal — the beating heart of any lightsaber — is selected separately: choose from red, blue, green, or violet.

The Blade

Once the hilt is assembled and the crystal set, a Gatherer connects your hilt to a 31-inch lightsaber blade. When the blade ignites, the room reacts. It is a genuine theatrical moment that lands regardless of how old you are or how many times you have seen the movies.

Your completed lightsaber comes in a carrying case and is yours to keep.

Know Before You Go

• Open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (subject to park hours)
• Age recommendation: 5 years or older
• The experience area is limited to the builder and one accompanying guest — at least one person must be age 14 or older
• The accompanying guest may not also build a lightsaber during the same session
• Custom lightsabers are nonrefundable
• Annual Passholder and other discounts do not apply
• The experience takes place in an enclosed space with low lighting

$274.99 per lightsaber, plus tax. Full payment is due at the time of booking.

Reservations

Savi’s Workshop is extremely popular and subject to availability. Advance reservations are highly recommended. Book as early as possible — slots at peak times (summer, spring break, holiday season) can sell out within hours of becoming available.

• Walk-ins may be accommodated based on day-of availability
• Theme park admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios is required but not included
• A theme park reservation may be required depending on your admission type

Cancellation policy: There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. Full price is charged if you cancel within one day or fail to show up.

Additional kyber crystals, hilts, and accessories can be purchased separately at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, located nearby in Galaxy’s Edge.
