The Experience

The Garden View Lounge Tea Experience is a prix fixe afternoon tea served daily in the lobby-level lounge of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Following a full redesign that debuted in spring 2026, the space leans into a garden aesthetic with green and white tones and soft references to Disney’s animated Alice in Wonderland — a natural fit for an afternoon tea setting.

The Tea Selection

Upon being seated, guests choose from eight Twinings loose leaf teas spanning both caffeinated and caffeine-free options:

• London Strand Breakfast — A bold, classic black tea
• Spicy Chai — Warming spices with a full-bodied finish
• Orangery of Lady Grey — A citrus-forward Earl Grey blend exclusive to Walt Disney World Resort
• Lemongrass & Peppermint — A refreshing, caffeine-free herbal option

Teas are prepared properly and served in pots with accompaniments. Specialty non-alcoholic teas, signature cocktails, and champagne and sparkling wine are available for an additional charge.

The Afternoon Tea Tower

Each seat receives a traditional three-tiered tower alongside a freshly baked orange-cranberry scone with accompaniments. The tower works through savories on the bottom and sweets on top, with whimsical names that nod to the Wonderland theme:

• Matcha Mad Hatter
• Seasonal pastries and petit fours

Adults may also choose a thoughtfully prepared plant-based afternoon tea option. Younger guests receive a specially designed children’s afternoon tea experience with smaller portions and age-appropriate flavors.

Premium add-ons include a Seasonal Cheese Selection ($21) and Royal Ossetra Caviar with accompaniments ($120).

• The lounge transitions to a Champagne and Wine Lounge in the evening hours (7:00 PM–10:00 PM), serving small plates and a curated wine selection — a separate experience not covered by this reservation type

Dining Plan Information

The Garden View Lounge Tea Experience does not accept the Disney Dining Plan. This is a separately ticketed prix fixe event. The per-person price covers the full tea service, including the tower, scone, and selected tea. Specialty beverages, premium add-ons, tax, and gratuity are not included.

The Garden View Lounge has long been one of the most charming hidden corners of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa — a light-filled room just off the resort’s ornate main lobby, looking out over the gardens and lagoon. After a substantial renovation, the space returned in 2026 with a fresh garden-green palette and subtle nods to Alice in Wonderland, trading the previous Victorian-red decor for something airier and more overtly whimsical.

The format is classic British afternoon tea: hot pot, tiered tower, and a deliberate pace that sits at odds with the usual theme park tempo. This is a sit-down experience measured in hours, not minutes. It works beautifully as a resort day activity, a celebration lunch for guests who want something elevated without the price of Victoria & Albert’s, or simply a quiet break from the parks. The Grand Floridian setting does the heavy lifting — the architecture, the soft piano music drifting from the lobby, and the garden views all contribute to an atmosphere that feels genuinely unhurried.

For guests with tea purists in the party, the Twinings loose leaf selection is serious enough to satisfy, and the Walt Disney World-exclusive Orangery of Lady Grey is a worth-ordering curiosity. The experience skews adult in sensibility even with the Alice in Wonderland touches, though Disney’s commitment to the children’s option means families can bring younger guests without compromise.

Reservations book quickly, particularly around holidays and the spring travel season. The 60-day booking window should be treated as a firm opening, especially for March through May visits.
