Dining Plan Information

Carthay Circle Restaurant is located at the Disneyland Resort, which does not currently offer a dining plan equivalent to Walt Disney World’s Disney Dining Plan. All meals are paid out of pocket. Dinner entrees average in the $$$ range ($35 to $59.99 per adult). Discounts may be available for Magic Key holders; check the Disney website or app for current discount details.

About Carthay Circle Restaurant

Step inside one of the most storied dining rooms at any Disney resort. Carthay Circle Restaurant occupies the second floor of a meticulous reproduction of the iconic Carthay Circle Theatre in Los Angeles — the original of which was built in 1926 and stood as one of the great movie palaces of Hollywood’s golden age. Walt Disney himself had a deep personal connection to the original theater: his first feature-length film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, premiered there in 1937, and in 1941 the West Coast premiere of Fantasia introduced groundbreaking stereophonic “Fantasound” to the world.

The design and décor of the restaurant pays tribute to that romantic, glamorous era. Original artifacts and references to early Disney history are woven throughout — look for Snow White Courvoisier animation cels, the only animated art that ever hung in Walt Disney’s own home, as well as a charming pastoral scene from Snow White painted on the ceiling of the main dining room. The attention to detail transforms the act of having dinner into a walk through Disney history.

The culinary experience matches the theatrical surroundings. Chef Alex Flores brings a distinct California sensibility to the menu, emphasizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients and seasonal preparations that reflect what is best about Southern California cooking. Guests can also request seating on the open-air terraces overlooking the foot traffic of Buena Vista Street below — a particularly magical option during evening hours when the resort takes on a golden-hour glow.
